Dave Lombardo's PHILM To Host Webcast Performance On Yahoo Music & TRIStudios.com - Details Available!
PHILM, the LA power trio that features members of Slayer, War and Civil Defiance, will give a free webcast performance on May 16 at 7 pm pacific/10 pm eastern, recorded at Bob Weir's TRI Studios and streamed directly via TriStudios.com and Yahoo Music (music.yahoo.com).
PHILM's debut album, 'Harmonic', is set for a May 15 release via Ipecac Recordings. The 15-track release was recorded in 2011 with members Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Pancho Tomaselli (WAR) and Gerry Nestler (Civil Defiance) collectively writing the release and utilizing vintage recording equipment during the recording sessions, giving the music a unique flavor AOL Noisecreep called "crunchy, Thrashy, yet thoroughly unclassifiable."
Viewers of the webcast can tweet along with the audience on Twitter by using #PHILMLive.
The band will play a hometown, record release show on May 15 at The Viper Room.

SLAYER's Dave Lombardo Side Project PHILM Announce Video Chat; Record Release To Take Place On May 15!
PHILM, the Los Angeles power trio featuring Slayer's Dave Lombardo, War's Pancho Tomaselli and Gerry Nestler of Civil Defiance, are taking fan questions on May 1st at 4 PM Eastern/1 PM Pacific via live video chat site Yowie.com (http://www.yowie.com/videochat/60z-philm).
The three-piece have a busy month ahead with a May 15 release of their debut album, 'Harmonic', and a hometown show that evening at The Viper Room.
"When people hear about my involvement in PHILM, they automatically assume that it will compare to Slayer's sound," explains Lombardo. "They couldn't be more different. I have scaled down my drum set to a four-piece, reminiscent of the drummers from the late '60s that influenced me. Each song is unique in itself, I like to refer to it as 'rhythmic emotion." It's almost like taking all the heavy songs of the '60s and bringing that era to a modern plateau, then blending them with the modern trance and psychedelic sounds of today."
"We decided to record 'Harmonic' in the intimate setting of a home, with various vintage recording equipment," says Lombardo on the band's debut album. "The music was written collectively in an improvisational manner, unlike the majority of recordings I've done before. This was very important given this is my first recording where I'm carrying the title of Producer and performer. The album achieves a dense, unholy convergence of tones and discords. We also touch on haunting, desolate, ambient sounds. Our music tends to be written in a manner where we never know the outcome until we listen back to what we recorded. A 'Harmonic' journey."
A highly anticipated release, PHILM officially took form in late 2010 with a handful of tour dates and an early four-song demo that quickly began to make the rounds of in-the-know music critics. Noisecreep said the band "has crafted a crunchy, Thrashy, yet thoroughly unclassifiable sound" and the OC Weekly said of the trio: "PHILM's ability to melt down Metal influences and mix them with the elements of Funk, ambient Jazz and Punk... is potent and has left audiences wondering how so much noise could emanating from just three musicians."

The band entered the studio last month with producer Will Putney (SHADOWS FALL, SUICIDE SILENCE, FOUR YEAR STRONG) and have finished recording their highly anticipated NEW album for a late 2012 release. Cameron Webb (MOTÖRHEAD, SOCIAL DISTORTION, IGNITE, PENNYWISE) will mix the CD.

The song "Piss" was released in celebration of the 20th anniversary reissue of "Vulgar Display Of Power", drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott made an astounding discovery: "Piss", an incendiary blast of vintage PANTERA from the original recording sessions that had long been forgotten. When the newly created video for the song premiered at the Revolver Golden Gods awards in Los Angeles, which was broadcast live on Xbox Live, as well as on the Xbox and Revolver Facebook pages. The song was then released to radio outlets and all digital music retailers. PANTERA is also the subject of a Revolver special issue and its available now!

SIX FEET UNDER Premieres NEW Track Called "18 Days" - Listen Now!
Today Guitar World is hosting an exclusive premiere of “18 Days,” the second official single from Death Metal tyrants SIX FEET UNDER. The track comes off the band’s soon-to-be disengaged 'Undead' full-length scheduled for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records. Offering up 12 tracks of uncompromising, sonic brutality, the record was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.
Commented vocalist Chris Barnes: “Creating an album is a lot of work and a lot of focus, but we didn’t really have too many hiccups in the recording. The video, directed by Zach Merck, also features some amazing slow-motion shots that recreate the face punch from the iconic cover of 'Vulgar Display Of Power'. Tim Williams From VISION OF DISORDER Lays Down Vocals For NEW Album!

As previously reported, Long Island Hardcore Metallers Vision Of Disorder inked a deal with Candlelight Records! The band has now entered the studio with producer Will Putney (SHADOWS FALL, SUICIDE SILENCE, FOUR YEAR STRONG) to record their highly anticipated NEW album for a late 2012 release. Cameron Webb (MOTÖRHEAD, SOCIAL DISTORTION, IGNITE, PENNYWISE) will mix the CD. You can watch a series of clips of the band working on vocals, guitars, and bass tracks for their NEW album below.

SKELETONWITCH Stream NEW Song "Tragedy Of Days"; Band Continues Pillaging Stages!
Comments guitarist Scott Hedrick of the track: “’Tragedy of Days’ was an epic instrumental by [guitarist] Nate [Garnette]'s former band Serkesoron. They disbanded after the untimely passing of Serkesoron's frontman, Thom Wright. Shortly after the band called it quits, SKELETONWITCH was born. We re-recorded the track and Chance [Garnette] added vocals as a tribute to Thom, immortalizing him in song."

In related news, the new vinyl reissues of the SKELETONWITCH's breakthrough releases 'Breathing The Fire' and 'Beyond The Permafrost' are now shipping from the Prosthetic Store. Both are available in three variants -- splatter, half-and-half and 180-gram black wax -- and feature gatefold Stoughton "tip-on" record jackets. The black vinyl versions of both albums will be available in select retail stores on April 10.
Additionally, the band recently unveiled a NEW video for the song “The Infernal Resurrection,” which comes off their The studio offering, 'Forever Abomination'.
SKELETONWITCH return to the last week with The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile and labelmates Hour Of Penance for a four-week tour that concludes at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival. This marks the group's first North American tour action of 2012. The band will take a brief break before heading overseas for a stretch of Euro dates. Confirmed dates thus far are included below:

"Before the word 'Metalcore' existed… VISION OF DISORDER did. We did what we did because we loved it, not because we thought others might. 20 years later, we're once again at work with the same approach.
"After a newly inked deal with Candlelight Records, we are about to begin tracking on our first studio album in a decade. We are bringing all the elements of what made us unique and ferocious to the table.
