FREE Music Courtesy Of CANDLELIGHT RECORDS Via Amazon.com - Get It!
Candlelight Records has launched a FREE label sampler available exclusively from Amazon.com. The 8-song sampler includes previously unreleased material from FALLOCH, THE ROTTED, WODENSTHRONE, SEAR BLISS, WOE, WINTERFYLLETH, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER and includes the first single from IHSAHN’s NEW album Eremita.
“The Paranoid” is taken from IHSAHN’s anticipated fourth solo album. Set for release June 19, Eremita was mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth) and features performances from drummer Tobias Ornes Andersen (Leprous), saxophonist Jorgen Munkeby (Shining-Norway), guitarist Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore), and vocalists Devin Townsend, Einar Solberg (Leprous), and Heidi S. Tveitan (StarofAsh).
The inclusion of an early production mix of RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER’s “Fucking Wild” follows the recent announcement of the band’s forthcoming NEW album, 'Ghostmaker'. The Philadelphia-based quartet recently completed a string of regional performances and are now gearing up for dates to support the NEW album once it hits stores nationwide on June 19. Guitarist Ryan Moll says, "the title of this track says it all. It’s a rather suiting description of its relentlessness. The lyrics were written by Shawn (Riley) and the title was inspired by some old live Venom recordings."
FALLOCH’s “The Ghosts That Haunts This Path” is a NEW song for American audiences. Previously available as a b-side to a European-only single, the song showcases the impressive stylings of the Scottish post-Black Metal duo. MSN Metal called the band’s debut Where Distant Spirits Remain, “a drop-dead gorgeous, haunting piece of work.” Kerrang called it, “intoxicating, haunting, beautiful.” Brooklyn Vegan adds, “it's clear that FALLOCH aims to walk along the righteous path of adventurous Black Metal bands like Alcest. 'Where Distant Spirits Remain' is a great first step in that direction.”
Planning to hit the studio in early June to lay down tracks for their third album, WOE’s reworked “Quietly, Undramatically” opens a NEW door on the title track from the band’s popular 2010 release of the same name. Vocalist/guitarist Chris Grigg notes, "the remixed version of 'Quietly, Undramatically' is a more accurate representation of what was hoped to achieve with the material and offers a different perspective into the album." Decibel Magazine said, “Woe strive for sophistication without falling into the usual pitfalls of pretentiousness, cartoonish-ness or undue gloss. Essential aggression is maintained, while the atmospheric and emotional depth envelopes are pushed with a bold fearlessness.”

C.O.C.'s Reed Mullin & Woody Weatherman Discuss NEW Album At Tour Kickoff Show In NYC!
Corrosion Of Conformity was established in 1982 in Raleigh, North Carolina by bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman and drummer Reed Mullin. Ever since then the band has released 7 studio albums, 3 EP's, and 1 live album. On February 28, 2012 the band released their self-titled album via Candlelight Records. Recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, the album was produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer. It was mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters) and features artwork by Seldon Hunt (Melvins, High On Fire). The album will is available on standard CD, deluxe digipak, and two exclusive vinyl formats.
During, the bands tour kick off show at The Gramercy Theatre in New York Rock City on Thursday, March 1st, we had the chance to chat with C.O.C.'s own Reid Mullen (drummer) and Woody Weatherman (guitarist) about the bands eighth studio album. We also chatted with them about the bands connections with Dave Grohl (ex-Nirvana, now in Foo Fighters), and the band managed to find a perfect chemisty which resulted in then recording one of the best albums of their careers.

C.O.C. Announce North American Tour Dates With Torche, Black Cobra & Gaza!
Currently out terrorizing stages on their headlining tour with Torche, Valient Thorr and A Storm Of Light, Raleigh, North Carolina cross-over legends CORROSION OF CONFORMITY today announce another round of live dates this June which will take them to the West Coast and Canada. Sponsored by Thrasher Magazine, the trek will steam-roll its way through 17 cities beginning June 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The band will be joined by Torche, Black Cobra and Gaza. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 9 at all major ticket outlets.
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY’s released their self-titled NEW studio offering to the masses last week via Candlelight Records. Corrosion Of Conformity was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer and mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters). The 11-track offering features the esteemed Animosity lineup of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman, and drummer/vocalist Reed Mullin and closes a six year recording gap for the band. Hailed among fans and critics alike, Decibel Magazine championed the band’s efforts noting: “While mastery isn’t unusual in Metal, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is fully baked enough to make us wish another 29 years on these fuckers,” while Stereokiller, in a 4/5 rating, noted: “The crew of Mike Dean, Woody Weatherman and Reed Mullin reconvene as a sturdy marriage of St. Vitus, Black Sabbath and Motörhead retrofitting the tried-and-true rock wisdom they’ve always applied to their sound.” Independent Weekly opined: “…as CORROSION OF CONFORMITY draws from the past, it refuses to replicate it here. These tracks are too mid-paced and riff-dominated to be Punk, too gruff and volatile for the bluesy hard-rock of the band’s latter days. And yes, there’s no Keenan, giving Dean’s higher register the chance to replace the departed vocalist’s smooth confidence with welcome tension—more Ozzy than Dio, in other words,” while Pitchfork echoed the sentiment: “Corrosion Of Conformity is what you want out of a comeback record: not just reclamation of lost vigor but a meaningful update on a vintage sound. If Animosity seemed like an ugly duckling back in the mid 1980s — too Punk for the Metal crowd and vice versa– Corrosion Of Conformity registers similarly today. In an era when doom metal keeps growing bleaker and artier, and hardcore skews ever more dire, the album serves as a reminder that swagger, soul, and songcraft still have a place in the heavy-rock underground. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, indeed.”
In related news, the band recently unveiled their video for “The Moneychangers” via Headbangers Ball last week. The clip was filmed in Raleigh by Charles Cardello and features the band in a storyline that brings the song’s lyrics out visually (even Jesus makes an appearance).
